Hoad in January

Hoad in January

Hoad is an ever popular landmark and monument. Its impact is partly maintained by the alternating seasons and cloud formations that cast a multitude of colours around it. Here, in this depiction of January, the murky grey skies do battle as Hoad beckons to us below as a place of refuge and safety.

Hoad Eclipse

I was attracted to the way the sunrise over Ulverston had eclipsed the Hoad and continued to illuminate the sky above it. Dapples of light across the pathway were inviting and this effect stirred me to produce a fresh painting of the iconic pepperpot.
